Check out MJ's blog

I found this cool blog, "ELISE" (stands for Enabling Library Information Skills for Everyone), written by the fictional fresman student at named MJ at the University of New South Wales in Australia. In her postings, MJ describes what she learned about doing library research. I bet if MJ had been a student here, she would have loved LILO!

There are many ways to teach what we do - the idea of creating a fictitous person or cartoon is only one way. "Elise" is a novel concept, and applaud MJ for that.

I know that Leeward Community College teaches plagiarism using a female guide named "Honesty" with a photograph of a person.

Though I think using a guide can be a good idea in some cases, I have a hard time with the name of that one :o) and I think students would too..

I kinda winced when I saw Leeward's plagiarism site for the first time, and still do.
